My Night

I had a night where I was decorating for Christmas and I loved it so I was happy. My baby sister loved it; she is nine weeks and she is really small. When would you decorate for Christmas this year?

Why I Did Not Have School Today

Umm, the reason stop this I didn't want to say umm.

Stop.......(whine)

The reason I didn't have school today is because it was parent-teacher conferences. My brother got out lots of toys in the classroom. I am in first grade. He popped a balloon off our calendar. Then I want to say, other than that on that line, I'm going to say, "And my brother started to, started to dump out the pattern blocks and the building blocks."

I thought that I would have a great time; my brother messed up some toys; he colored in one of the books with a crayon, and I think that he should pretend that he is a kid.* And that is the end for today.

(Since Jack is a kid, he can't really pretend to be a kid. Her father points out that Arthur Danto claims that something cannot pretend to be what it is. e.g. a horse cannot pretend to be a horse. Marley rolls her eyes at him.)

I've Been Tagged

My cousin JC tagged me, so I'm it. Here are my answers to the questions.

Name and meaning: Marley Xiomara
I am named after Bob Marley, the reggae singer. Xiomara is a Spanish name, it means "brave in battle" in old Spanish.

Age: I am six years old and I am in first grade.

Nicknames: Marbles, Weirdo, Kiddo, Crazy Lady, Lala Jr.

Favorite Activities: Rocking out to the Camp Rock CD, watching Nickelodeon (iCarly, Drake and Josh, and Zoey 101), playing

Favorite Foods: Macaroni and Cheese, Pizza (Jack said, "Ah, Pizza), spaghetti, pancakes, roasted maize, cereal (I'm definitely a Fonnesbeck because I always leave my cereal bowl with old cereal in it in the sink. How hard is it to just dump the bowl down the drain?)

Least-favorite food: Casserole, anything mom makes for dinner, creamed maize, pot pie, tuna, egg rolls, and sushi (I'm a coward).

Favorite Music: Bob Marley, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, High School Musical, Disney-movie songs, Weezer, CCR

Favorite toys: Cash register (that's my only favorite toy)

Favorite book: Smelly Socks by Robert Munch

Favorite item of clothing; My orange "L.A. Kitty" shirt.

What makes me happy: Watching iCarly, going to Church, talking with my parents

What makes me sad: When people do bad things to me, and when people are being really mean.

Now I tag: Mason, Aunt Annie, Aunt Susanna, and Papi

First Day of 1st Grade

I like first grade because it is nice. It is nice because it is very fun. Today we got to go to Art. We had another tour of the school, but it was fun. We had lots of fun. Lots of things were going on. We have to be super quiet because the older grades are studying very hard. I only had to walk the fence once at recess because I talked in the hallway. My Mom wants me to include my teachers name, but I am not going to. She looks like Snow White. My friends Tabitha and Gabriella from Southside are in my class this year. The bus forgot to pick me up, so my Mom had to drive me. I think we should have a pizza party for people who are good on Mondays.

Here is a picture of the lunch my Mom packed for me on the first day along with some other pictures we took while waiting for the bus that never came!

Church

I went to church today with only my grandma. My dad wasn't feeling well and my parents and my baby sister and brother stayed home. I'm sure they had a great time at home; I had a great time at church. I like church because you learn about the Gospel and other things. I like music time the best. We came home from church and then I ate a ham sandwich, and that's all for today.

Time for First Grade

I hope I like first grade. We'll be learning more stuff, but two of my cousins, Mason and Paige, will be learning other things. There are going to be friends from kindergarten in my school class, and I'm sure that I will recognize them. I hope it's fun. And that's it for today.
